Background: 

• Heather was born and raised in Southwest Michigan, so she knows this area well. After 12 years in Chicago and central Illinois, she and John moved their family to South Haven in 2001 to be closer to all-important family and friends. 

• John hails from Chicago and has spent a lot of time in SW Michigan since he and Heather met in 1995.
 

Experience: 

• Heather holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design degree from the University of Michigan.

• John holds a Bachelors degree in Speech Communications from Southwest State University in Minnesota, where was team captain and an award-winning linebacker.  

• Heather has been a producer of corporate meetings for Fortune 500 companies across the nation for 13 years. She provides creative, technical and organizational support to internal corporate teams. She takes pride in long-standing relationships –her clients have returned to her year after year, for excellent service and support.  

• Before becoming a REALTOR®, John spent 15 years in broadcasting in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois where he was an award-winning Weathercaster for the CBS Affiliate, WCIA. His winning personality gained him a loyal following of early morning viewers in Central Illinois.  

Family: 

• Heather and John have two young children, Francesca and Jack.  

• Family, friends and faith are the most important aspects of the Valenziano family. 

• The family is a member of St. Basil’s Parish in South Haven.
 

Hobbies and Associations: 

• John is very active in the Southwest Michigan Association of REALTORS. Currently John serves as a District Director on the Board of REALTORS, and formerly served as Grievance Committee Chairman. 

• John enjoys golfing and fishing and is an all-around sports fan. His Chicago/Illinois roots means he’s a bit biased toward the Fighting Illini, which causes grief with Heather who graduated as a Wolverine from the U of M.  

• Heather is an avid gardener, reader and homemaker, who is very happy to have landed in South Haven and close to the beach!

• The Valenziano’s have been very active in the support of various health and faith-related charities.  

• John was the local host of the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon for 12 years in Central Illinois.  

• John is a member of the Knight of Columbus and Chairperson of the Parish Pastoral Council at St. Basil's Church in South Haven. 

• Heather is School Board Presidnet of St. Basil's Catholic School and past Vice-President of WE CARE, Inc. a non-denominational, Christian clearinghouse of services for the underprivileged in Van Buren Country.  

• Heather is past Co-Chairman of the Board of the First Congregational Church in Bangor. 

• They have also been affiliated with the Arthritis Foundation, the Relay for Life and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. CCFA is the family charity – having raised thousands of dollars to support its cause.

Continuing education and high sales performance are very important to us and to the goals we have for the continued success of our real estate business. Having already achieved the prestigious (GRI) Graduate Realtor Institute designation, and (CRS) Certified Residential Specialist, which is held by less than 4% or REALTORS® nationwide, along with earning the (ABR) Accredited Buyer Representative designation, John and Heather continue to provide their clients and customers with superior service. Heather completed her education and passed the state exam for a Michigan Real Estate Brokers License in late 2004.
